Governor Walker’s visit

On July 17th Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus had a visit from Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Governor Walker came to Moraine Park to award the College with a Wisconsin Workforce Partnership Grant from the Wisconsin Covenant Foundation, Inc.
Moraine Park will use the $705,647 grant to provide specific training for Amerequip Corporation, Brenner Tank, John Crane Orion, and Mid-States Aluminum Corporation. The grant will establish Manufacturing Skills Academies for machine operation and welding training in a 15-week boot camp format. These partner businesses will be able to hire skilled workers from the skills academies.

Through this grant, we are able to help move the State forward in closing the gap between Wisconsin’s middle-skill jobs and available workers. The College is very grateful and excited to be working with our business partners to help strengthen the pipeline between Moraine Park and employers.

Cool off with Moraine Park’s Culver’s custard contest!

With the warm weather we’ve been having, let’s cool off by voting in Moraine Park’s Culver’s custard contest! Moraine Park is working with Culver’s on selecting a new flavor as part of our Centennial Celebration, and we need everyone to help by voting!
You will probably need to make a Culver’s custard run after I share the three flavor contenders in the contest: MPTC Maximus Crunch (Oreo cheesecake flavored custard with blue and white sprinkles on top); MPTC Wolf Pack Choc Attack (Chocolate custard with brittled chocolate coating and Oreos); and MPTC Berry Innovative (Vanilla custard, blueberry, and brittled chocolate coating).
The new Moraine Park Flavor of the Day will be announced with free samples of the custard flavor available for tasting at the Moraine Park Centennial Time Capsule Opening and Dedication Ceremony on Thursday, August 16 at the Fond du Lac campus, from 3-5 p.m. Visit this link to cast your vote – you can vote as many times as you would like and the voting will end on July 31.
Stay cool in the next couple weeks by voting for your favorite flavor!
